Kid's Creating Photos

The Vermont Festival of the Arts is alive and well in and around the Mad River Valley and on August 9th We had a photo class for kid's from the ages of 9-12. I instructed the children on how to use a 35mm digital SLR (not a point and shoot) the cameras were provided by Green Mtn. Camera in Waterbury Vermont..thank you for that at GMC. I did a quick overview of what I carry in my camera bag and then we discussed the basics of shutter and aperture. I gave them an assignment having to do with nature and each child had the camera for a 1/2 hour to create. These are the results, GREAT JOB to all that took the class.

The Lodge at Otter Creek in Middlebury

Back in July The Lodge at Otter Creek in Middlebury, Vermont was completed which was a two year project. I was the photographer for the project and the interior designer, Brett Beldock, from NYC sent me this article from the NY Times. I wanted to show you some of the completed images that I shot as panoramas....... to give the viewer a true sense of the space.

Kevin Kubota Photoshop course on the Cape

Hello all,
Last week I was busy taking a course with Kevin Kubota on the Cape. He is a master in Photoshop and I am always trying to better my knowledge of this ever changing world of photography. That way I can be up to date with all the latest and greatest so I can deliver the best quality product to all involved. I do like this techy stuff! it is always challenging and time consuming but...always creative and exciting.
I drove down to the Cape with my dear friends...Daria Bishop CLICK HERE! and Andrea Carbonneau two other Vermont photographers that rock the house! It was a wonderful week...now I am hard at work trying to keep up with all that there is to learn in order to deliver the best quality product available.

WELCOME to my Journal

Welcome to my new journal, I am looking forward to sharing with all who enter.
Thank you for taking the time to visit with me.

I will use this journal as a way of keeping my friends, family and clients up to date on
what is going on in Barrie's life and the world of Fisher Photography.

Here it goes!

Last Thursday evening was a big day, I had an art opening for my fine art photography at The David Findlay Galleries 984 Madison Ave at 77th in New York City. I exhibited with my cousin, Alexandra Kendall a photographer out of Breckenridge Colorado. It was a wonderful turn out of about 250 people and I want to thank all of you that came to support us, it is an evening I will cherish. Thank you to Michael Findlay, for making it happen.

I encourage you and your friends to stop by the Gallery and meet Michael, Rebecca, Phillip and Andy... take a browse, look at all that the David Findlay Gallery has to offer. The Gallery is a 138 year old gallery and this show was the first photography show at the Gallery. There are four Findlay Galleries, two on 57th St in NYC and one on Worth Ave in Palm Beach, Fla.
